Beaches La Palma

At LA PALMA you will not find those splendid sandy beaches like on the large canarian islands. The beaches here are quite small and have mostly very clean, grey volcano sand. Here a brief survey

Charco Azul
Nicely designed sea water swimming pool with a small bar below of Los Sauces. Its Not very busy during winter, but lot of activity in the summer.

Charco Verde
Idyllic sandy beach approx. 2 km south of Puerto Naos in direction El Remo.2 well built roads lead from the main road down to the beach. A popular location also for fishing.

Fuencaliente
A small and romantic gravel beach next to the lighthouse. Right next to it there is a very good restaurant for fish and paella. Especially on Sundays ist very crowded. Along the west coast there are further hidden swimming bays. They mostly have gravel and grey sand.

La Fajana
Sea water pool north of Charco-Azul with restaurant in Cesar Manrique style.

Las Monjas
The only official nudist beach on La Palma, approx. 1,5 km behind Puerto Naos in direction El Remo. Dreamlike beautiful bay without shady areas.

Los Nogales
Very nice beach with find sand within the community of Puntallana at the steep east coast. You can only reach the beach by foot (quite a long way).

Los Cancajos
The holiday complex Cancajos there are 3 swimming bays and also an artifically layed out sandy beach. There is also a childrens pool who is naturally separated from the sea. In the adjacent urbanisation Los Cancajos you will find bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Santa Cruz
Along the wide acees road there was layed out a long beach, in the outer harbour area with palm trees and a kiosk.

Playa Nueva
This beach is approx. 3 km north of Puerto Naos. It is a bit difficult to find, but it is during the summer one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of the island. During winter there is because of the current almost no sand. Paradies for surfers.In addition there is a small delightful bar.

Puerto Naos
This is the most popular beach on the island. A lot of coconut palms offer shady places. Sweetwater showers, changing cubicles and toilets are provided. At the paseo maritimo (promenade) you will find bars, kiosks and restaurants.

Tazacorte
The sunny spot of the island has finally now a beautiful a sandy beach in the old harbours bay. For additional protection the old harbour mole was lenghtend. The constructions at the promenade are finshed.
