Casa
Maribel
The
valley
of
Hermiguas,
situated
in the
northeast
of the
island,
fascinates
by its
rural
charms
and the
evergreen
vegetation.
Palm
groves
and
banana
plantations
intercepted
with
lordly
mansions
surrounded
by
colourful
gardens
make a
picturesque
impression
in front
of the
steeply
rising
massif
the
Roque de
San
Pedro.
The
village
Hermigua
is not a
village
closed
in
itself
but a
scattered
settlement
stretching
for
several
kilometres
along
the road
up to
the
mountains.
Trade
winds
and
clouds
bring a
humid-mild
climate
to the
valley,
resulting
in rain
more
often
during
the
winter
months
than in
the
western
and
southern
parts of
the
island.
Since
there is
no beach
suitable
for
bathing
in
Hermigua,
a
natural
sea
water
swimming
pool was
built
into the
rocks at
the
coast.
Those
who are
in
Hermigua
for
their
holidays
and do
not want
to do
without
a beach
can
reach
Playa de
La
Caleta
by
passing
a little
macadamized
road.
This
small
and
protected
bathing
bay with
a fish
restaurant
is
especially
popular
with the
local
population.
